Chest Freezer Warranty
This page covers the warranty on IDS chest freezers and our Super and Ultra Cold "Cold Cube" Benchtop Models.

The full manufacturer's warranty will accompany your new unit for 18 months, covering Parts & Labor. Please contact IDS directly as soon as you notice an issue.
The manufacturer warrants, for IDS Chest Freezers, to the original purchaser, all parts and workmanship for eighteen months from the date of shipment, including reasonable labor allowances for repairs or replacement of defective parts when performed by an authorized Service Agent.
IDS will use local repair companies to inspect and repair the unit, when possible. If you already have a repairman or service that your facility uses for other freezer repairs, IDS would be happy to try and work with them to get the repairs completed in a timely and efficient manner.
STANDARD WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
INSPECTIONS THAT REVEAL USER ERROR - Sometimes the power goes out or other issues that are not related to the equipment. If the customer requests a service call and it is determined that user error is the cause, the customer will be responsible for service charges
ABUSE, MISUSE, ACCIDENTS – Manufacturer shall not be responsible for parts or assemblies which upon inspection are determined by an authorized Service Agent to have been subjected to misuse, neglect, alteration, accident, abuse, damage during transit or delivery, or by fire or flood.
BE SURE TO INSPECT THE UNIT UPON DELIVERY BEFORE ACCEPTING IT, TO BE SURE NO DAMAGE WAS TAKEN IN TRANSIT TO YOU.
When you sign for the unit and do not note damage, the freight company will dispute any claim that they are responsible.
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES – IN NO EVENT SHALL THE MANUFACTURER BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, PRODUCT LOSS OR PRODUCT SPOILAGE CLAIMS, NOR FOR ANY DELAY IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS WARRANTY DUE TO CAUSES BEYOND ITS CONTROL.
The standard warranty and any service contract related to the STANDARD WARRANTY shall apply only to the products sold and used within the boundaries of the Continental United States and Urban regions in Canada. Users may file warranty claims directly with IDS. All claims must be supported by information concerning the alleged defect and specifically identified by the Serial Number of the cabinet.
THERE ARE NO OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, EXCEPT THIS WARRANTY, WHICH IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES INCLUDING TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OR MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
**DO NOT DRILL HOLES IN CABINET** Refrigeration tubing and wiring is routed through the cabinet walls. Leaks, wet insulation or electrical problems caused by drilling holes are not covered by warranty.
Note: IDS chest freezers are most often sold in the 115V cabinet, but are available in 230V, (shipped without a plug) If you specify the NEMA number and shape, we can install it before shipping.

WARRANTY EXTENSION OPTIONS
IDS freezers can be quoted with a special 18 month extension or 42 month extension, depending on the unit you are ordering. Super Cold and Ultra Cold models will only offer the extension on the compressor itself, while Moderate Cold Chests have an extension on the parts and labor.

Customers Outside Of Continental United States and Urban regions in Canada
IDS is happy to work with you, and can provide a formal quote that includes the export crating and shipping costs. IDS will warranty the parts, but does not offer labor services or transportation or shipping costs of the parts in relation to our standard warranty. While our equipment components are not proprietary and can be found locally in most urban areas that have companies that supply Hospitals, Laboratories, Universities and Manufacturers - IDS does not have an international presence at this time and does not offer help in finding local repair services. It is suggested that our customers outside the US and Canada look for repair services local to them before purchasing.
Return Policy
All IDS Freezers are built for the order. They are not warehoused. These are considered "Non-Stock" items and we do our best to make sure the customer has decided on the product before we start the build. Returns are not common, and we suggest approaching the purchase of an IDS freezer with that in mind. Customers have 30 days from ship date to attempt to return certain products under the following provisions. There will be no exceptions:
- No return will be accepted without an RMA number issued by IDS. No product is accepted without prior authorization. Any shipment that arrives at an IDS facility collect or without an RMA will be returned to the sender at their expense. CONTACT IDS TO REQUEST THE RETURN.
- Products must be unused and returned in the original packaging within 30 days from ship date.
- Multi Unit Orders can not be returned. We often get orders for several units at a time, and can not accept more than 1 unit returned from a multi-unit order.
- A restocking fee of 25% will be assessed for all returns, or more than 25% based on the condition of the return. All shipping costs are to be paid by the customer. Customer will be notified before any credit is given and may elect to have items returned to the customer at his or her expense.
- RMA Number must be displayed on the outside of the original box when returned.
- Any item or product being returned by a customer because item or product fails to meet specifications or has a defect in manufacturing would be repaired or replaced under warranty for that product at the discretion of the manufacturer - not returned.
- Products must be undamaged and free of contamination and must be returned in the original packaging for any return consideration. Any product in improper packaging, used or is damaged in anyway will not be credited.
- IDS does not offer to indemnify the customer for any costs related to IDS equipment performance.
- All related shipping costs are paid for by the customer.
